About our name  Gaia comes from Greek mythology and refers to Earth as home of the sacred and as sacred home. Today we talk of geology and geography. In 1970, scientist, James Lovelock wrote The Gaia Theory and called humans to see the planet as "a single living system".

Gaia Centre emphasizes that what's needed at this time is to make the health and welfare of Earth central to our society, economy, and spirituality.
